Ankola Wellness Resort
Commissioned by a Bengaluru based developer to envision a holistic wellness resort in North Karnataka, the strategy employed is to maximise the potential of the site before building any physical structures. The proposal is to create an ultra luxury wellness destination with 250 keys capacity in collaboration with a veteran wellness brand. Additionally, the plan is to develop an ultra luxury gated community to cater to customers, who can buy permanent homes at this beautiful holiday destination.
The project brief was to incorporate a holistic wellness centre with premium cottages independently spread across the site. At the highest table point of the site, A nurturing bio-reserve with a large natural water body is placed which plays a pivotal role in the permaculture aspects of the site. The cottages are designed into the earth to visually and psychologically create a sense of harmony with the surroundings. Natural materials and the larger landscape consume the building in a conscious attempt to blend the boundaries between built and unbuilt. Planned alongside the resort, are uber luxurious 6000 square feet residences in a gated community nestled within the master plan. A state of the art clubhouse with sporting amenities offer its residents a chance to engage with various facets of the site.
The spinal walkway that meanders through the site ultimately terminates at a panoramic view of the ocean that accentuates the soul of the site.
The lush green vegetation belts are interspersed between the cottages and residences which are synergetic with the water bodies on site creating a thriving biodiversity.
